Rick Bischoff, Director

Rick has been the director of admissions at Caltech since July 2004. He previously served as an associate director of admissions at Macalester College and the University of Chicago. Rick holds a BA in mathematics from Macalester College and an MBA in information systems from the University of Minnesota.

Ray came to Caltech after spending six years at the UCLA School of Medicine as their director of outreach and recruitment. After graduating from Pomona College, he spent two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Central America, then went on to UCLA to earn a master's degree in Latin American Studies. Ray is responsible for the International, 3/2, and Transfer application cycles.

Jamila graduated from the University of Southern California with a bachelor's degree in communication and a master's degree in marketing communication. Previously she worked at the USC Annenberg School as the assistant director of admissions. Jamila is responsible for publications.

Cameron graduated from Claremont McKenna College with a degree in mathematics. As a student he was involved in the admissions office as an interviewer of prospective students. Here in the Caltech admissions office, Cameron is responsible for organizing campus visit programs, including Prefrosh Weekend, Caltech Previews, and Caltech In A Day, as well as coordinating the student tour guides.

Jann joins Caltech after several years at the University of Virginia's Teaching Resource Center. She holds a Ph.D in Slavic Folklore from U.Va., and MA in Russian Literature from New York University, and a BA in general studies from Ferrum College. She has taught Russian language, literature and folklore, studies children's folklore, and has crocheted pi to about 30 decimal points.

Owen graduated from Trinity University with a bachelor's degree in English and a minor in Medieval Studies. He spent two years working in Trinity's admissions office as a counselor intern. Owen also worked a an admissions counselor at Pitzer college before joining the Caltech Admissions Office.
