For High School Counselors

One of the joys of working in admissions is the relationship we develop with professionals “on the other side of the desk.” We gladly take your phone calls and answer your e-mails in an effort to be sure that you have the most current information about Caltech and admission to Caltech. You should feel free to contact the regional admissions counselor who works with students from your school directly, though any of us on the admissions staff will be happy to talk with you.

Recognizing that admission to college has become more complicated and is sometimes confusing, we’ve been making a concerted effort at Caltech to provide the clearest possible information regarding our admissions process to students and to counselors. In some cases we’ve made changes in our process, such as by accepting the Common Application for freshman admission, which we hope provide some clarity and simplification for students and those who support them in the admissions process. I would welcome your feedback on your interactions with Caltech or ideas about how we might serve students better.
