Tours and Information Sessions


 


Student-led tours detail undergraduate academic and student life and are appropriate for prospective students who are considering Caltech for their undergraduate education. Students' families are encouraged to join the tours as well.

Tours depart daily from the Admissions Office on Monday through Friday, and on some Saturdays in the fall.

January, February, May, June, September, October, November and December
Information Session: 10:30 a.m.
Campus Tour: 11:15 a.m.

Saturday tours (fall only)
September 13 - November 15
Information Session: 10:00 a.m.
Campus Tour: 10:45 a.m.
The Admissions Office is open Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the fall.

March, April, July, and August
Information Sessions: 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Campus Tours: 11:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m.


Register for a tour and information session at the Online Event Calendar. Once registered, you will receive an e-mail confirmation with detailed parking directions. We will also keep you updated if there are special events that you may want take advantage of during your visit.

 Caltech Previews

 Interested in visiting Caltech this summer? Our Caltech Preview program offers students and parents an opportunity to spend a half-day on campus. Take a student-led campus tour, listen to current students talk about student life, and ask questions of admissions and financial aid staff members! Find out more about Caltech Previews

Group Tours

Please call 626-395-6341 at least three weeks in advance to make special arrangements for group tours.


Self-Guided Tours

Want to explore Caltech on your own time? If you are unable to attend a student-led tour, you are welcome to download a copy of our Self-Guided Tour Booklet (PDF), or if you are on campus, stop by the Admissions Office and pick up a copy. The booklet is a reader-friendly way to help you navigate around campus while learning about Caltech.


Observed Holidays for 2007 - 2008

Before planning your trip to campus, please note that tours are not conducted on Institute holidays or some national holidays, but you are welcome to go on a self-guided tour at those times. Institute-observed holidays and events:

  • Labor Day, September 3
  • Thanksgiving Holiday, November 22, 23
  • Winter break, December 24 - Jan 2 (Caltech will be closed the week between Christmas and New Years)
  • Martin Luther King Day, January 21
  • President's Day, February 18
  • Memorial Day, May 26
